Smoking cessation is 1 of the 4 core clinical interventions being promoted by the campaign. Helping Patients Quit:
Implementing The Joint Commission Tobacco Measure
Set in Your Hospital

Hospitalization provides an opportunity to assist tobacco users with quitting. With Partnership for Prevention funding, The Joint Commission has developed a new set of performance measures to address the assessment and treatment of tobacco dependence for all hospitalized patients. This new measure set will be available for hospital selection in January 2012.
Partnership is pleased to host this educational webinar for the ActionToQuit Network and other tobacco control leaders and advocates nationwide. The program will feature a synopsis of The Joint Commission measure set; Massachusetts General Hospital’s experience in tobacco screening and intervention; and an overview of the newly released Helping Patients Quit guide.
This webinar is FREE but registration is required. Funding for this project was provided by Pfizer Inc.
