POW’R Cessation Center, Serving Putnam, Orange, Westchester & Rockland Counties, NY

Our primary mission is to educate healthcare providers about the evidence-based guideline for treating tobacco dependence and the free resources available in order to assist patients with quitting smoking.

POW’R Tobacco Cessation Center serves four counties of the Lower Hudson Valley – Putnam, Orange, Westchester and Rockland Counties in NY. We are a free program of the American Lung Association in NY, funded by the NYS Department of Health Tobacco Control Program. Using the evidence-based 5 A’s Model for Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, we offer healthcare providers training and resources to assist their patients to stop smoking.

Our Mission

POW’R Tobacco Cessation has been working with Healthcare providers for over seven years. We work with physician groups, hospitals, and community health care clinics. In these years we have helped many facilities go to a Tobacco Free Campus and put in a systems-based approach to smoking cessation. Everything we do is evidence-based using Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence, 2008 Update as our guide.
